  1. Hi,
I was wondering whether you could tell me about authentic sources which defend Islam against the charge of “violence” especially with reference to the Quran. I have found that there are parts in the Quran which seem to imply that violence is O.K. I know that in the Old and the New Testament we have many instances of sheer violence and that Jews and Christians are not held responsible for any of that, yet ironically all Muslims are considerd as perpetrators of violence because of verses in the Quran. I have found out that Islam really is mostly about peace yet some of these verses have got me confused.
I would appreciate your help, it would really mean a great deal to me.

  2. by the way, I found your video “The Kaaba and its Miracles” astonishing! Could you please give information about the producers of the video? there seems to be none in the documentary. There was only the address of a particular site which did not open when I tried it (kutsalgizemler.com). I am very much interested to find out.

  3. Hello, Thank you for commenting on my site.

    1. It would help if you could provide the verses that you “Say” promote violence such as that, as I can not find any. And also many of the verses as you say “promote” violence actually do not, it is just the way people misread them.

    2. The site you provided does work for me, but as stated in the article, “This discovery is made by the 3d graphic artist, director who made some works that are world-wide famous, Erdem Çetinkaya. Right now his work of documentary-movie which includes the miracle of Kaaba and the miracles named “Holy Mysteries”. “

6 authentic sources that help prove that muslims are not to be killers are:

    Sahih al-Bukhairi
    Sahih Muslim
    Sunan Abu Dawud
    Sunan Ibn Majah
    Jami at-Tirmidhi
    Sunan an-Nasa’i

These books are six collections of hadith. a hadith are the prophet’s sayings, actions and the actions done with his approval.

  5. Saad Riazuddin and tahabtalib,

Thank you for your prompt replies.
I will post the verses asap. I dont have access to them right now since I am in my office, but I do remember one verse which is considered a “lesser” violence and if I’m not mistaken its about a husband being able to “hit” his wife in cases of necessity!

    The Quran:4:34
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in the husband’s absence what Allâh orders them to guard. As to those women on whose part you see ill conduct, admonish them, refuse to share their beds, beat them, but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means. Surely, Allâh is Ever Most High, Most Great.

I am an anti-feminist even though many of my friends and colleagues consider me a traitor to my sex 🙂 and this does not make me sad one little bit. Yet I strongly believe that if there is going to be a true religion sent from the Lord then it must also have rules and regulations that fit in with human nature. I have seen many instances in the Torah and the N.T in which a woman is degraded and considered as “less” pure and holy than men and this has caused a lot of anger, yet the Quran says that BOTH men and women can attain salvation and reach high degrees in spirituality regardless of their sex.. this was something which made me rejoice and congratulate the Quran and its Author. Verses which kept on saying “God fearing men” and “God fearing women”, side by side and with no particular priority given to men were an exciting reading experience for me and one that I shall always cherish as one who has fully come to realize the dangers of feminism. Yet the verse which I have quoted has got me quite confused (similar to some other instances” and it would be great to clarify these points.

Thank you again for your patience

    Eli

  6. ChristLover,

Thanks for the link. I read the article, but what I was looking for was sth much more forceful. If you talk to people who accuse Islam of violence, especially towards the women, you would find that they claim, the Quran does not say a “light tap” but rather to “beat”. This is what *some * Muslims interpret but not what many of them actually practice.

While I admit that many Muslims families that I have seen do not have this beating phenomenan going on, yet the role of women in countries such as Saudi Arabia and similar countries is very frightening to the western woman. Women not being allowed to drive, to vote….

    I would appreciate clarifications

    Eli

  7. You want a simple proof? Forget all of the people of Saudi Arabia because countries hardly have anything to do with religion, and look at what our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in one of his last speeches before he died:

In the Tenth Year of Hijrah, one of the things he said was, “Fear Allah concerning your women. You have certain rights over your women and your women have certain rights over you. Lay injunction upon your women but kindly.”

That and according to other hadiths means that in Islam Men and Women have equal rights over each other, what the Prophet meant by a injunction means a small and lightly tap in which to be done by something like the likes of a toothpick and only to be done on a last resort. And never in the face! Try not to look at the people but the teachings first and far most. Thanks.
