While many of us are complaining at home for fasting in a hot summer day, around 3500 Muslims are competing at the Olympics this year, subhanAllah! And as if you don’t have to be fast enough at the Olympics, many of them are fasting. I have mad respect for these people, seriously, not only are they representing a positive outlook of Muslims around the world, they’re not leaving their deen for their career and hobby. (Sort of like Br. Hussein Abdullah) May Allah (swt) reward them for their hard work and make the sport even easier for them 🙂 Ameen.
I’ve seen several different pictures of Muslim athletes of this year floating around, so I decided to compile them and put them up. Here they are:
Note: I’ll be adding more once more start coming through inshAllah.
MV: The story above are actually two siblings, Zain and Mona Shaito, who both mash’Allah got to the Olympics in Fencing. The cool thing about them however is that one of my friends was classmates with them. Meaning they studied at an Islamic school, ‘Brighter Horizons Academy‘ here in Dallas!
MV: They play for Lebanon’s team, mash’Allah!
MV: Here are a few more that surfaced online, don’t have a description but Shaykh Abdul Nasir has a pretty good one:
