If you don’t think that the website is not in good form and boring then no one is asking you to visit the site or read the articles but I can guarantee you that all the articles on the site are legitimate and well read before posting. And also the posts on the site also have a trusted source. Let me clear you that I will not close the site down but if you think you can do a better job then feel free to make your own “Islamic” website with material that you think is legitimate. This will help Islam more so I think it would be a great idea.

  11. Please reconfirm ….. the picture of the grave is blong to Moulana Rumi In Konya …..this is not the Grave of prophet Mohammad (SAW)…

  12. Aselamulaikum to the above poster^
While researching the picture of the grave actually belonged to Moulana Rumi, I found that some of the pictures pointed out that the grave was the Prophet (PBUH)’s. But further along I found that one website pointed about that the grave did not belong to the Prophet (PBUH). Because of the unsureness if the picture belongs to the grave of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I will be removing that picture. Thanks for the notice. Jazakullah khair.

  28. Pondering the Best Deeds of the First 10 Days of Dhul-Hijjah

    By Aishah Schwartz
    November 18, 2009 (updated)
January 8, 2006 (original publication date)

(NOV. 7, 2010) It’s here! The first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah! And, subhan’Allah, as I sat updating this in November 2009, I was still reliving moments shared earlier in the day with two very dear people, married 36-years, preparing to board the passenger vessel, Dhab, at Safaga, Egypt – destination, the experience of a lifetime (and their first) – HAJJ! My heart swelled as I remembered those very first steps for my own hajj experience – and the memories came flooding back as if it were yesterday, not, wow…four, now five years ago? Time sure does fly, doesn’t it?

Many of you may have already read your share of articles about the virtues of the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah, but try to trust me when I say; this one is a little different.

The first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah are noted to be among the special seasons of worship preferred by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala over all other days of the year, and a Muslim has to seize every opportunity that could bring him or her closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, no doubt about that.

Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” [emphasis] The people asked, “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said, “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight, giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.” (Bukhari)

Another hadith affirming that fasting is one of the best deeds, urges us to fast on the Day of Arafat (9th of Dhul-Hijjah) as the reward for fasting on this day is multiplied greatly:

It is said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Fasting the Day of Arafat atones for two years of [minor] sins, the year prior and one forthcoming.” (Reported by Muslim, Abu Dawud and others.) (Fiqh-us-Sunnah Vol. 3 Page 124c.)

It is my most sincere dua that each Muslim who has this knowledge and is able to, takes advantage of the great benefit to be derived from fasting on this special day.

However, perhaps in not specifically stating that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fasted each of the first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah, is it not within the realm of possibility that there are other ways to perform good deeds in addition to fasting on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah? Of course!

In further reflecting on the best of deeds, we might first, as a wise friend of mine has often said, go back to the basics…the five pillars.

As Muslims we have already achieved the first pillar, the testimony of faith (saying with conviction, “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” This saying means “There is no true god but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God.”

Zakaat (alms), being the third pillar, is what a believer returns out of his or her wealth to the neediest of Muslims for the sake of the Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala; it is an obligation upon every Muslim who possesses the minimum Nisaab (requirement). The word itself means to increase, purify and bless. “… what you give in Zakaat, seeking Allah’s Pleasure, then it is those who shall gain reward manifold…” (30:39)

The fourth pillar, fasting the month of Ramadan, we did our best to complete, insha’Allah (for those of us who were able), as it has already passed.

And the fifth pillar Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca), which is made during the month of Dhul-Hijjah (a one-time requirement for those with means), is something I hope we all pray that each and every Muslim gets the opportunity to perform, insha’Allah.

I bet you thought I forgot the second pillar, often referred to as the “central” pillar of Islam, salat (or prayer), but I saved that one for last on purpose.

In consideration of what is within our means to do when looking for the “best deeds” – one of the simplest things that came to mind (which doesn’t cost us a thing monetarily), is to perfect our salat.

    • Are we making our best effort to pray on time?
    • Are we making our best effort to concentrate?
    • Are we striving to make our salat in a state of humility and consciousness?
    • Are we making our best effort to perfect the surah’s we recite in our salat?
    • Are we rushing off after salat without making dhikr?
    • Are we missing salat altogether?
    • Are we making up missed salat?
    • Are we lazy and lacking in commitment?
    • Are the men in our lives praying as much as possible in the masjid?

Bottom line: Are we making our best effort to perfect our salat?

Be conscious of Allah’s angels who have shifts – one by day and one by night – to monitor your condition and your prayers and report to Allah Most High.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are shifts which rotate with regard to you – angels by night and angels by day. They all meet during the dawn prayer and during the afternoon prayer. Then those who spent the night with you go up and their Lord asks them – and He is the most knowledgeable of them – ‘In what state did you leave my slaves?’ They answer: ‘We left them praying after having come to them while they were praying.’ (Muslim & Bukhari)

Need an even stronger incentive to safeguard and perfect this most important second pillar of Islam?

Narrated Abu Qatadah ibn Rab’i: “Allah, the Exalted said: I made five times’ prayers obligatory on your people, and I took a guarantee that if anyone observes them regularly at their times, I shall admit him to Paradise; if anyone does not offer them regularly, there is no such guarantee of Mine for him.” Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 2, Number 430, Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat).

In conclusion, when seeking a determination as to what might be considered amongst the “best deeds”, we really don’t have to look any farther than our knees, do we?

May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala guide us, forgive our sins, protect us from the hellfire…and reward our intention to perfect our salat. Amin.

  31. Aselamulaikum to the above commenter^ Jazakullah Khair for
your concerns. Please can you tell me where on the site I have a video of that. I am pretty sure you either misunderstood or
saw a wrong video because I don’t recall posting any videos like
that nor do I plan too. Thanks

  32. i like islam and i love mohammad (peace upon him) .. i am proud of being a moslim . i am egyptian and work in saudi arabia (HOLLY MADINAH) … I visit my beloved mohammed mosque 2 or 3 times evry week .

  34. As’salaamualaikum wa rahmatulaahi wa barakaatuhu,
I’ll say Ameen to each and every of your du’as.
You guys are doing a great job- May Allah (sw’t) blesses you infinitely for that- but yet,
I just wanted to pinpoint that there has clearly been an error in this article.

There’s no such as Sûrah 90 verse 60 or Sûrah 60 verse 90.
    Please correct.

  35. There are many young teenagers who face depression. This is something that kids today are confused about. How to handle the pain. Some of them resort to cutting or other forms of self-harm. I want to make a suggestion if you could do something about how Islam views self harm, and how you can get over self-harming yourself with the help of Islamic values and teachings. I would greatly appreciate it if you would follow this suggestion. And great job with the site as usual Masha’Allah you are helping so many people better understand Islam. Keep up the good work! =)

  36. Hello to the above commenter^

It seems you have been misinformed..Islam is the religion of peace and not destruction or war. The stuff youve been looking at is all fake and trash and trust me we Muslims know what Islam really is, the religion of peace.

  37. MV-SAAD………….explain this then!

How does the Islamic faith get around this one?

See also the Koran (9:5): “Slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them [captive], and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.”

  38. To the above commenter^

The ayyut you got above was a small portion from the whole verse. The whole verse was, “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.”

Second of all Muslims are not allowed to kill unless if its for self defense. Many people misunderstand the ayyut in Quran that talks about this, please watch the video here:

And heres what it says in the Quran:
“…if any one slew a person – unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land – it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people…(Noble Quran 5:32)”

“Those who invoke not, with God, any other god, nor slay such life as God has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; – and any that does this (not only) meets punishment. (But) the Penalty on the Day Of Judgement will be doubled To him, and he will dwell Therein in ignominy. (The Noble Quran, 25:68-69)”

Clearly its haraam or forbidden in Islam.
Islam is Peace man. Get it through your head and watch lectures by famous Islamic Scholars in Islam instead of looking at random sites against Islam, Thanks.

  39. Saad………..take a look at the below/attached websites/videos and from what you say above that the killing is “only” allowed in self depfense is wrong. I see rope around the wrists of these people while they are being killed! What’s up with this then?

  40. Those sites are all against Islam like I said. JihadWatch is on the number one list. Dont watch and listen to those people when most of them aren’t even following the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH). The site Jihad Watch is not even made by a Muslim but your saying that a person that isnt Muslim knows more about us then we do?? Think of it logically, why would any religion support the killing of the innocent in the first place? Listen and watch the people in our religion who spread our Muslim Voice the right way such as the scholar I posted above and other content that I have from Muslims around the world. The ayyut I had from the Quran above says that killing is forbidden clearly. The Muslims that kill and say its right are not Muslim because Islam is the religion of peace and does not support killing. Read about the Prophet (pbuh) and I mean his real biography written by a Muslim and you will see how much of a great person he was along with Jesus and Moses and other Prophets. You need to trust me on this, I am speaking on behave as a Muslim and trust me, Muslims know more about their religion then other non Muslim people say they do. Thanks.

  41. Thank you Saad very much. I will read all I can on (PBUH) in the coming weeks. However, I have decided to convert to Christian learnings because of these killings I saw on video and the way Sharia is being applied. I also like the idea of my Christian friend that my wife can pray alongside with me every day.

  42. Not a problem at all and I hope you continue to research on the Prophet (PBUH). Just keep this in mind however that the way they are practicing the sharia law is against Islam if it involves violence or any other activity that is against Islam. Many claim to be Muslims and things in the name of God or the sharia but in reason they are illiterate and have not studied the Quran, May God help them to realize the truth. Thanks.

  43. Bismillah,ir-Rahman,ir-Rahim.
Imam Ahmad said: al-Waleed ibn Muslim related to us; that Safwaan ibn ’Amr related to us; that ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr related; from his father, who said:

“When Cyprus was conquered and its people were dispersed and they started weeping to each other, I saw Abud-Dardaa sitting alone and weeping. So I said to him: O Abud-Dardaa! What makes you weep on this day that Allaah has granted strength and honor to Islaam and its people? So he said: Woe be to you O Jubayr! How insignificant the creation becomes to Allaah when they turn away from His command. In front of us is a nation who were evidently powerful and who had dominion, yet they abandoned Allaah’s command, so look what has become of them.”

[2] ‘Alee ibn al-Ja’d said: Shu’bah ibn ‘Amr ibn Murrah informed us; I heard Abul-Bukhtaree say:I was informed by someone, who heard the Prophet (sallalalhu alaihi wa-sallam) saying:

“The people will not perish, until they have no excuse left for themselves.”

[3] Imaam Ahmad reports in his Musnad, from the hadeeth of Umm Salamah, who said: I heard Allaah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) saying:

“When acts of disobedience become widespread in my ummah, then Allaah may send punishment upon them all from Himself” So I said: 0 Allaah’s Messenger! Even if there are righteous people amongst them that day? So he replied: “Indeed!” So I said: How will that be? He replied: “They will be afflicted with what afflicts the people, then they will move on to the forgiveness of Allaah and His good pleasure.” [4] (We are living in a time where Disobedience to ALLAH is widespread in every Nation and among every People, this is the time to Seek protection in ALLAH’s Perfect words, from all that He has created, and to seek Protection in ALLAH’s Pleasure from His Anger, and to seek protection in ALLAH’s Pardon from His Punishment, and seek protectoin in the Nur(light)of ALLAH’s Gloryus Face that has illuminated All Darknesses.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
    1. The Sure Reality! 2. What is the Sure Reality?
    3. And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?

    4. The Thamud and the ‘Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!

    5. But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!

    6. And the ‘Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;

    7. He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

    8. Then seest thou any of them left surviving? (When there are nations in the World who are evidently powerful and dominion, but yat they turn away from the Commands of ALLAH! they become insignifcant in the Eyes of ALLAH,when there is Nations like the U.S. , Israel,Great British and France staning in Bold Defiant against the Commands of ALLAH, Becuse of blind arrogance and disobedience, and injustice, these are the ingredients for their Destruction. there is no excuse for Arrogance, blind or other wise. when a people, and Nations, like these Disbelieving People who have study the working in creation, and they act as if they can do anything in this Life without restriction and they act and think that they are above the Punishment of ALLAH, And they have Become blind and Arrogance, and are persisten in Great Evil, inflicting injustice upon injustice, thoes people, these Nations are asking for the Punishment of ALLAH. ALLAH has Promise and the Promise of ALLAH is the Truth, ALLAH has Promise and the Words of ALLAH is the Truth, ALLAH has Promise and ALLAH is The Truth. O ALLAH! you have promise that you would answers the Du’a (Prayers) of the Oppressed,(O ALLAH I Bag of you to Answer the Du’a (the prayers) of the Oppressed through out the Earth,(through out the world).and O ALLAH! I bag of you to Bring about your Justice and Punishment in it entirety upon these Oppressive people whom have oppressed me for years,O ALLAH bring about your Punishment in the way that only you can.and also upon ever organization whom have sponsor and Paid these oppressors, O ALLAH Count them all where ever they may be in this world.

  45. Assalamualikum Saad,

I’m one of the members of MGYG.
I have a suggestion for your website.
Since you did mention you weren’t going to be posting as frequently since your moving to Texas (us MGYG members were very saddened by the news), why not let the future MBYG coordinator take over for you, as a learning experience for them and a means of continuing the helpful posts on this website.
I have been told the next in line is Mohsin (whoever that is), who I can see is already registered on this site for something. So yeah. Just a friendly suggenstion, take it or….don’t take it, I guess.

  46. Walaikum Asalam!

I really appreciate the comment and I’m glad to hear you guys take your time out for this site. It seems like I might have been a little unclear on my short hiatus (break) for the site. What I meant to say was that I will be taking a short break just until my exams are complete as I was not getting enough time to work on posts. Although I’m happy for anyone to work on the site in general, the site itself has no relation with Youth Group what so ever. On a side note, 3 of the contributors on the site are actually part of MBYG so Alhumdolilah they have already been having experience on posting articles. However, only of of them was active and the other two still have a choice to post but we all have busy schedules and even for me it’s really hard to post frequently but inshAllah once I get everything settled the site will return back inshAllah. Thanks for the suggestion!!

  47. Assalam o alaikum.I like your blog so much. It’s so interesting.Instead of wasting time on reading other stuff we should subscribe to real Islamic blogs .And all those guys who are criticising aimlessly, please if you cannot say something good it’s better to remain quiet. Please listen to Br.Nouman’s lecture on internet trolling for a positive change.May Allah guide us.Aameen.
